Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Galuccio, Vista’s Chariman and CEO is also currently an independent member of Schlumberger’s Board of Directors. Previously, between May 2012 and March 2016, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of YPF, Argentina’s largest oil company. Under his leadership, YPF became the largest shale operator outside North America.
Prior to joining YPF, Mr. Galuccio held a number of different international positions at Schlumberger, in the United States, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Russia and China. Senior roles held at Schlumberger included President of Integrated Project Management (IPM), General Manager for Mexico and Central America and Real Time Reservoir Manager, finally becoming President of Schlumberger Production Management (SPM).
Mr. Galuccio holds a Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) in Argentina.
Pablo Vera Pinto
Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer
Prior to becoming Vista’s current Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Vera Pinto held positions at YPF Argentina and various YPF joint ventures and controlled companies. At YPF, he held the positions of Head of Business Development between October 2012 and February 2017 and of Director of Transformation from May 2012 to September of the same year. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Profertil (a fertilizer company that is a joint venture between Canadian Agrium and YPF), Central Dock Sud S.A. (a power generation company that is a joint venture between Italian Enel, YPF and Pan American Energy) and Metrogas S.A. (a gas distribution company controlled by YPF, after acquiring it from British Gas in 2012). During his time at YPF, Mr. Vera Pinto led the execution of over 20 M&A transactions.
Before his time at YPF, Mr. Vera Pinto worked as Restructuring Manager at an Argentine private equity fund focused on restructuring acquired businesses, where he also served as Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of the fund’s controlled businesses. Previously, Mr. Vera Pinto was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Europe, and prior to that was at the investment banking division of Credit Suisse First Boston NA, based in New York.
Mr. Vera Pinto holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina and an MBA from INSEAD in Fortainebleau, France.
Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer
Before becoming Vista’s Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Garoby served as Interim Vice President of Exploration & Production at YPF between August and October 2016. He was also Head of Drilling and Completions from April 2014 to August 2016 and Head of Unconventional from June 2012 to April 2014, serving at the same time as President of YPF Servicios Petroleros S.A., a YPF-owned drilling contractor.
Prior to his time at YPF, Mr. Garoby worked at Schlumberger as Operations Manager for Europe and Africa. Mr. Garoby has also held several positions at Baker Hughes, including among others: Director of Baker Hughes do Brasil, Baker Hughes Centrilift Brazil Country Manager and Baker Hughes Centrilift Ecuador & Peru Country Manager.
Mr. Garoby holds a Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) in Argentina.
Co-founder and Strategic Planning & Investor Relations Officer
Mr. Cherñacov, Vista’s current Strategic Planning Director and IR Officer, previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Jagercor Energy Corp, a small-cap Canadian Securities Exchange-listed E&P company between January 2015 and February 2017.
Prior to that, Mr. Cherñacov served as Investor Relations Officer at YPF, where he was responsible for repositioning the company in the local and international capital markets. He also held several positions in the Exploration and Production Vice-Presidency, where his last role was being in charge of the management of the upstream portfolio in Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia.
Mr. Cherñacov holds a Degree in Economics from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, a Master’s Degree in Finance from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina and a Strategic Decision and Risk Management Professional Certificate from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
Sustainability and QSHE Manager
Prior to joining Vista, Gabriela worked for 17 years at Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services company, where she held several senior and international positions.
Gabriela holds a Chemical Engineer degree from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina, and a degree in Business Management in the Oil & Gas industry from the the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
Prior to joining Vista, Matías led shale and tight gas projects at YPF, principally the
development of the Loma Campana block, the largest shale project outside of the United States.
Matias holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires.
Exploration & Development Manager
Prior to joining Vista, Germán worked at Tecpetrol, where he held the position of Development Manager of the Vaca Muerta Project. His experience includes developing Fortín de Piedra, the company’s flagship project in the area. Prior to that, he worked for almost 20 years at YPF, where his last position was that of Unconventional Development Manager, with significant focus on Vaca Muerta.
Germán holds a Geology degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
Well Construction Manager
Prior to joining Vista, Raúl worked at YPF as Drilling and Completion Manager, with Vaca Muerta projects as his main focus. Previously, he worked in the drilling and completion departments of several Oil and Gas companies both in Argentina and overseas, including Rio Colorado, Baker Hughes and INTEQ.
Raúl is a Mechanical Engineer, graduated from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, and he also holds a post graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering, from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
